A former student of Celina High School has been charged with six counts of felony invasive visual recording after police discovered images of students taken in the school’s locker room on their phone. The incident marks a troubling continuation of invasive recording issues within the Celina Independent School District.
On October 1, the Celina Police Department announced the arrest of the juvenile, who was initially detained for allegedly acquiring child pornography online. During the investigation, authorities found four images featuring six different students from Celina High School, which were reportedly captured during the 2025-26 academic year. Police confirmed that the student acted independently in the recording of these images.
The school district has been cooperative with law enforcement throughout the investigation, and officials have reached out to the parents or guardians of the affected students. The identity of the arrested former student has not been disclosed.
Statement from Celina ISD
In response to the incident, Celina ISD issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to the safety and well-being of their students. The district reassured families that they are handling the situation with the utmost seriousness and have shared pertinent information from the police department with the community.
The district underscored its dedication to maintaining trust and respect within locker rooms, stating that any behavior that compromises student privacy, safety, or dignity will result in immediate disciplinary measures and potential referral to law enforcement. They also highlighted the availability of support resources for the affected families.
Context of Recent Incidents
This case follows a previous incident involving former Moore Middle School football coach Caleb Elliott, who was charged last year for allegedly recording numerous nude male students in the locker room. Elliott is currently being held in Collin County Jail on multiple charges, including sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography.
The school district conducted an independent review, which found no evidence that Bill Elliott, Caleb’s father and the then-athletic director for Celina ISD, had prior knowledge of his son’s alleged actions. Bill Elliott has since resigned from his position amid the ongoing investigation.
This recent arrest reflects ongoing concerns regarding student safety and privacy within the Celina ISD, prompting calls for heightened vigilance and stronger policies to protect students in school environments.
