Join the opening reception of Chris Cody’s solo exhibition, “Somebody to Love,” showcasing Valentine-inspired portraits of couples. Cody’s artwork, created with markers, colored pencils, and oil pastels, draws inspiration from ’80s and ’90s pop culture. Additionally, the Open Canopy event offers a chance to explore other studios in the building. Don’t miss the curated show, “Many Voices,” by Art from the Streets on Saturday from 1–4 p.m.
Solar Saturday: Black History Month Kick-Off Block Party

Location: George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center, 1165 Angelina St.
This festive block party celebrates Black History Month with a vibrant makers market featuring local artisans, art and dance classes, and live musical performances. KUTX DJ Marc Fort will provide a musical backdrop from 2–5 p.m., and the event will also unveil an exhibition showcasing the work of sculptor Steven Bernard Jones. Check the lineup for more details.
Runnerrss’ Album Release Show

Location: Hole in the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe St.
Catch the album release party for Runnerrss, led by Michael Zapruder and featuring seasoned musicians from notable Austin bands such as Okkervil River and Black Pumas. Their self-titled debut album delves into themes of safety and belonging, promising a poignant experience. The evening will kick off with a performance by Cheetah Cheetah, followed by the closing act, Stella and the Very Messed.
PrintEXPO
Cost: Free; $35+ for opening night fundraiser

Discover a world of creativity at PrintEXPO, where attendees can purchase original artworks and watch live demonstrations. This annual fair showcases over 100 artists, galleries, print shops, and universities. The opening night will feature an artist talk, along with live music, food, and drinks.
The Last Match at Filigree Theatre
