According to Sergeant Beaty, deputies from District 1 responded to a call regarding a male lying in the grass near Fernglade Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered the man on the eastern side of the road, where emergency medical services later confirmed his death at the scene.

Witnesses reported that they had been walking along the road when they noticed the man and subsequently contacted emergency services. Evidence at the scene included vehicle parts located near the victim, indicating that he had been struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled the area.
