Fatal Northwest Freeway Accident: Driver Killed in Guardrail Collision and Vehicle Overturn

HOUSTON – Authorities in Houston are currently investigating a fatal accident that occurred in the northwest area along U.S. 290. A driver was discovered deceased at the scene on Wednesday evening.

Details of the Incident

According to Sergeant Mike Barrow, police were called to the scene of a crash on the Northwest Freeway near the Fairbanks exit, specifically on the inbound feeder road.

Reports indicate that a black SUV was traveling at a high speed when it made slight contact with another vehicle. It is suspected that the driver of the SUV lost control, subsequently colliding with a guardrail, which resulted in the vehicle overturning.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the second vehicle sustained only minor injuries.

Ongoing Investigation

As it stands, the identity of the deceased driver has not yet been released. Additionally, authorities are still working to determine whether impairment played a role in the crash.
