A significant fire erupted at a hotel in Houston, resulting in two individuals being hospitalized and extensive damage to numerous units. The incident, which occurred on the first floor of the Deluxe Inn on Truxillo Street, was attended by officials from the Houston Fire Department.
According to Deputy Chief Bryan Sky-Eagle, the fire originated in one of the hotel rooms. One guest managed to escape the room but suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation, leading to their critical hospitalization. A second individual, located in the room directly above the fire, was also hospitalized due to smoke inhalation and minor burns; they are currently reported to be in stable condition.
The blaze inflicted damage on 20 units within the hotel, primarily from smoke and fire. Firefighters responded promptly, effectively containing the fire to prevent further destruction.
The Red Cross has been called in to assist those guests who have been displaced by the fire.
As of now, the number of guests present in the hotel at the time of the incident remains unclear, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
