Four Arrested in Drug and Gun Bust at Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool by APD

A coordinated operation by the Austin Police Department (APD) in the Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool areas has resulted in the arrest of four individuals on various drug and weapon charges.

In response to a rise in criminal activity, citizen complaints, and frequent calls for service in the area surrounding Barton Springs Pool, the APD analyzed crime data collected from January 1 to June 9 of this year. The analysis revealed incidents involving aggravated robbery, vehicle burglary, narcotics offenses, and reports of suspicious individuals.

To address these concerns, the South Metro Tactical Unit embarked on targeted operations in Zilker Park throughout August and September, aimed at identifying suspects linked to the reported criminal activity. On September 24, four individuals were arrested under existing warrants, with additional charges filed based on crimes observed during these operations.
