HOUSTON – This Memorial Day, residents can expect warm temperatures with highs reaching near 90 degrees. While the chances of rain are minimal for Monday, the middle of the week is set to bring increased precipitation.
The holiday forecast indicates a warm and humid day across Southeast Texas, with temperatures hovering in the upper 80s to low 90s. Although the majority of the day will likely remain dry, there is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening, particularly in inland areas.
As the week progresses, storm activity is anticipated to pick up significantly. By Wednesday and Thursday, a new weather disturbance is expected to sweep through the region, resulting in more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall totals during this period could range from 2 to 3 inches.
Some of the storms expected mid-week may bring intense rainfall, strong winds, and frequent lightning. While severe weather on a large scale is not currently anticipated, localized flooding and heavy rain are potential concerns from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning.
