Houston Weather Update: Expect Rain and Storms This Monday

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecasted for Houston today, potentially bringing brief periods of heavy rainfall and localized flooding in certain areas.

The weather may pose challenges for families as many children return to school. Afternoon rain could lead to altered dismissal plans in some districts.

Looking ahead, the summer heat is set to make a comeback. After today, the chances of rain are expected to diminish as temperatures rise, with highs reaching the mid to upper 90s and humid conditions prevailing throughout the rest of the school week. Isolated afternoon storms may still occur.

In terms of tropical activity, there are currently two waves in the Atlantic. One of these has a reasonable chance of developing into a depression or tropical storm later this week; however, it remains far from Texas and poses no threat to the region.
