Some thunderstorms may produce intense rainfall in localized areas, leading to brief street flooding, frequent lightning, and gusty winds. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and seek shelter quickly if lightning occurs.
Looking ahead to the middle of next week, a shift in weather patterns is anticipated. Daily temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, with heat index values surpassing 100 degrees in areas away from the scattered storms. A hotter and drier climate may emerge as rain chances dwindle, potentially pushing temperatures into the upper 90s.
In terms of tropical activity, while there is a possibility for storms and hurricanes to form over the next week, the likelihood remains low. This time of year typically sees tropical waves, but many may not endure due to unfavorable conditions such as dry air and wind shear. The National Hurricane Center has identified two regions of potential development. However, as we approach the peak of hurricane season on September 10th, vigilance is advised, as activity can increase until the season concludes in late November.
