Lake Travis High School has announced the cancellation of football activities following a serious health emergency involving a student-athlete. The incident took place during morning practice, prompting immediate action.
Head football coach Hank Carter informed parents that the emergency occurred around 8 a.m. and required the intervention of Travis County STAR Flight for medical assistance. Due to the severity of the situation, the school opted to suspend all football-related activities for the remainder of the day.
In his communication, Carter expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “While I cannot share any details surrounding the situation, I sincerely appreciate the calls, emails, and texts offering support.” He also acknowledged the quick response from the athletic training staff, coaches, Lake Travis Independent School District police, and first responders, who arrived shortly after the emergency call. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the player and his family at this time,” he added.
