Man Arrested and Denied Bond in Stabbing Death of Woman in Northeast Houston

A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in northeast Houston earlier this month.

Joshua Byers, 22, faces murder charges for the death of 28-year-old Ambrosia Swain. Court documents confirm that he has been denied bond.

The incident occurred on December 8 around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Hahlo Street and Lyons Avenue. Police arrived to find Swain suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported that Swain was engaged in an argument with a man across the street when he approached her and allegedly attacked her with a knife. Following the assault, she managed to run approximately two blocks to seek help from passersby.

On December 18, authorities released surveillance images of a person of interest, and Byers was subsequently arrested the following day.

As the investigation continues, further details remain limited.
