Massive 2 Alarm Fire at Abandoned Spring Facility: 50 Firefighters Responding to Emergency

HOUSTON – Early Friday morning, multiple fire departments from the Houston area responded to a significant structure fire in Spring.

The Timber Lakes Fire Department received reports of a commercial fire at an abandoned facility on Sawdust Road, previously operated as a pet boarding business. In response, the Woodlands Fire Department was called in to provide additional support.

Firefighters from The Woodlands employed master streams and ground monitors to combat the blaze from outside the building. Unfortunately, there was a partial collapse of the structure during the firefighting efforts.

To manage the situation effectively, a second alarm was activated, which resulted in the deployment of 20 fire trucks and a total of 50 firefighters to the scene. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries.

The Woodlands Fire Department confirmed that the fire was brought under control shortly after 2 a.m., allowing many units to be released from the scene.

Currently, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
