Missing Fort Worth Flight Attendant's Remains Found in Montague County: What Happened?

Body of Missing Flight Attendant Recovered

The remains of a Fort Worth flight attendant, who had been missing since June 2025, have been recovered and identified. The discovery marks a significant development in a case that has left the community seeking answers for over a year.

Authorities confirmed that human remains found in Montague County, approximately 75 miles northwest of Fort Worth, belong to Rana Soluri. Her body was located by a fisherman earlier this year, and subsequent DNA testing conducted at the University of North Texas verified her identity.

In connection with Soluri’s disappearance, 66-year-old Dennis Day has been arrested and charged with murder. Day confessed to strangling Soluri and disposing of her body in a river in Bowie, Texas. He led investigators to several locations in Bowie, but it was not until recently that her remains were discovered.

Soluri was reported missing on June 11, 2025, with her last known sighting on March 21 of the same year. An arrest affidavit revealed that Soluri and Day had been living together for about a year prior to her disappearance. Security footage from Day’s residence, recorded on the night of March 21, allegedly shows him dragging what appears to be a lifeless body into the backyard.

Day claimed that he “snapped” during an argument with Soluri, during which she was filming him and making threats. He mentioned disconnecting the surveillance equipment after realizing he was being recorded. In a July court filing, it was noted that Day boasted to fellow inmates about the possibility of evading conviction if Soluri’s body was never found.

Fort Worth Police Public Information Officer Daniel Segura expressed gratitude for being able to provide some closure to Soluri’s family. “I can only imagine what they are going through. But as far as the investigation, at least we have some of those answers for them,” he stated.

Currently, Day remains in custody at the Tarrant County Jail with a bond set at $200,000. Efforts are also underway to assist Soluri’s family, with a GoFundMe campaign established to facilitate the transportation of her body to Seattle for burial.
