A man has been apprehended following an alleged home invasion in Montrose on West Alabama Street, where he reportedly forced his way into a residence after connecting with one of the occupants through a dating app.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred on Thursday night, around 9 p.m. The Central Division of the police department received an emergency call reporting the invasion.
The suspect is said to have entered the home and began threatening the four individuals present. Fortunately, all residents managed to escape safely and contacted authorities for assistance. Upon arrival, officers found that the suspect had barricaded himself inside and was unresponsive to commands to surrender.
The Houston Police Department’s Patrol Support Team, along with a K-9 unit, was deployed to the scene and successfully took the suspect into custody. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted charges against him, although specific details about the charges have yet to be disclosed.
There were no injuries reported among the occupants, and the suspect was unarmed at the time of the arrest.
As of now, the identity of the suspect remains undisclosed, and further information regarding the charges is pending.
