Officer Involved Shooting Follows High Speed Chase on I

A police pursuit across multiple counties in Texas culminated in an officer-involved shooting on Monday. The chase, which began in Harris County, was linked to a suspect wanted for an assault and robbery.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was pursued until the chase terminated on Interstate 45, near mile marker 163. Authorities confirmed that a trooper from the Texas Department of Public Safety was involved in the shooting incident. The suspect was subsequently transported to a hospital in Temple for medical care.

Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the incident. The Texas Rangers have been assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
