Police Hunt for Oak Cliff Groups Involved in Mall Shooting That Injured Innocent Bystander

Dallas police are actively pursuing leads in a shooting incident that occurred at an Oak Cliff shopping mall, which resulted in an innocent bystander being injured. The confrontation involved two rival groups who exchanged gunfire on April 5 at Big T Bazaar.

According to law enforcement, the altercation began when one group, located inside a barber shop, had a verbal exchange with another group that had just arrived. Following the exchange of words, both groups fired shots at each other, causing chaos in the bustling shopping area.

After the incident, the two groups fled the scene in separate vehicles: one in a black Dodge Challenger and the other in a gray Honda CRV. Fortunately, the bystander who was struck during the shooting is currently in stable condition, as confirmed by Dallas Police Detective Lauren Kebart.

Detective Kebart expressed concern for the community, stating, “It was Easter Sunday. People were out here just trying to shop and enjoy their time and got caught up in something they had nothing to do with.”

In response to this violent event, Dallas police have released surveillance footage and images from the mall, urging anyone with information to come forward. Individuals with tips related to the shooting are encouraged to contact Detective Manuel Prensa at (214) 671-3084.
