A second individual has been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in April. Officials announced that 22-year-old Alyzae Davila was charged with murder on Wednesday.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident occurred on April 19 along Kuykendahl Road. During the shooting, 20-year-old Julianna Elizabeth Cardenas was struck while traveling in a vehicle with a friend. The friend also suffered gunshot wounds but fortunately survived.
Authorities reported that Davila, along with 25-year-old Javon E. Brown, allegedly pursued the vehicle occupied by the victims and discharged multiple rounds during two separate confrontations, resulting in Cardenas’ death.
Brown was charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon shortly after the incident and remains incarcerated at the Harris County Jail, according to officials.
Davila was arrested on Wednesday by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, with assistance from the Special Response Team.
