Severe Flash Flooding in Williamson County: Urgent Evacuations for Two RV Parks

Flash flooding has prompted urgent evacuation orders for two RV parks in Williamson County, Texas, as officials respond to severe weather conditions.

The Williamson County Emergency Services have reported ongoing and anticipated flash flooding near the Shady River and Good Water RV parks, located in the Georgetown area, adjacent to SH 29 and the San Gabriel River.

Residents in these parks are being strongly advised to evacuate to higher ground without delay. A temporary evacuation center has been established at the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, situated at 4051 E University Ave in Georgetown.

Motorists are warned against traversing flooded roadways and are encouraged to consult atxfloods for updates on road closures and flood conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Williamson County, effective until 3:15 p.m. CT. This warning extends to several communities, including Round Rock, Georgetown, Taylor, Leander, Hutto, Liberty Hill, Jarrell, Florence, and Thrall, among others.

As of 11:43 a.m. CT, the National Weather Service reported that rainfall amounts between two and five inches had already been recorded, with an additional inch of rain expected. The agency warns that life-threatening flash flooding could impact creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.
