Houston authorities are currently investigating a daring theft involving a semi-truck that was stolen from a local truck stop, an incident that was captured on surveillance footage.
The truck’s owner, Ahmad Wisal, shared details about the theft, stating that the video evidence shows the semi being driven away in the dead of night from its reserved parking space at a Texaco station on Fondren Road.
Wisal explained that he had been paying for this reserved spot since purchasing the truck for $90,000 earlier in March. On March 11, he parked the vehicle, only to discover it missing by March 24. Although he had locked the truck, a review of the surveillance footage revealed someone had managed to start the truck and drive it away without breaking any windows.
For Wisal, the truck represented more than just a mode of transportation; it was essential for supporting his family back in his homeland and running his business. “The truck was my life,” he lamented. “It’s really hard, and I’m feeling so overwhelmed because that truck was my everything.”
Houston police have confirmed that they are actively pursuing the investigation into this unusual case. Wisal expressed confusion over how the theft occurred, given the lack of evidence at the scene.
As the investigation unfolds, police are advising truck owners to implement additional security measures, such as installing tracking devices to expedite the recovery of stolen vehicles.
