HOUSTON – The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is set to commence this Monday, and attendees can look forward to delightful weather conditions for the opening day.
On Monday, the forecast predicts mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the low 80s. Country music star Riley Green will perform on the Star Stage that evening, with temperatures remaining in the upper 60s as the concert concludes.
As the week progresses, the weather may take a turn, with scattered showers expected by mid-week and a possibility of thunderstorms emerging late in the week. Although the highest risk for severe weather is projected for North Texas, residents are encouraged to stay informed about any developments.
In addition to the rodeo festivities, skywatchers in Houston will have the opportunity to witness a total lunar eclipse, commonly referred to as a “Blood Moon,” on Tuesday morning. The event kicks off with a partial phase at 3:50 a.m., leading to totality from 5:04 a.m. to 6:02 a.m., when the moon will glow a striking coppery red.
The best viewing conditions will be toward the western horizon at 5:33 a.m., just before the moon sets and the sun rises. This particular lunar eclipse holds special significance, as it will be the last total lunar eclipse visible from Houston until December 31, 2028.
Stay tuned for updates and enjoy the beautiful weather and astronomical events in the days ahead.
