Three Arrested in Fort Worth Teen's Drive By Shooting Death Amid Unclear Motive

In a tragic incident in Fort Worth, three individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Prince Washington, who was shot and killed during a drive-by shooting on April 2. The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Cesar Horton, 19-year-old Kamron Lampkin, and 17-year-old Todaireyun Clark, face serious charges as investigators work to uncover the motive behind this senseless act of violence.

Prince Washington, a sophomore at South Hills High School, was killed outside his home on Glenbrook Lane in the early morning hours. Authorities utilized surveillance footage from nearby cameras to trace the vehicle involved in the shooting, leading to the apprehension of the suspects in Fort Worth and Collin County.

The arrest warrant affidavit reveals that the investigation was significantly aided by a neighbor’s security camera and city surveillance systems. According to the affidavit, Horton was driving a red or maroon Honda sedan when Clark exited the vehicle and discharged multiple rounds towards Washington’s residence. The footage captured multiple muzzle flashes, indicating that a second firearm may have been used.

Officer Buddy Calzada of the Fort Worth Police Department highlighted that law enforcement had zeroed in on the suspects shortly after the incident. A SWAT team, in conjunction with the department’s real-time crime center, attempted to apprehend the suspects at a location believed to be a hideout. However, the suspects managed to evade capture momentarily, with two being detained in a nearby county while the third was arrested later in Fort Worth.

Despite the arrests, the motive behind the shooting remains elusive. Officials have not determined whether the suspects had any prior connection to Washington. Officer Calzada expressed the urgency of the investigation, stating, “We’re trying to figure out if someone had a grudge against him. Right now, it just appears to be a senseless murder.”
