A tragic accident occurred on Sunday in Channelview, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist after a collision with a vehicle.
The incident took place around 12:45 p.m. on Dell Dale Street, just south of Wallisville Road. The crash led to temporary blockage of the southbound lanes near Hidden Chase and Hidden Park Drives.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a Mercedes-Benz was traveling north on Dell Dale when it attempted to make a left turn onto Hidden Park Drive. At that moment, a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, heading south on Dell Dale, collided with the Mercedes as it turned.
The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown into the air, landing at the intersection. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the rider deceased shortly before 1 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and exhibited no signs of intoxication.
As of now, the identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released.
