A 20-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with a shooting that resulted in a fatality in southwest Houston in 2025.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Arentheis Winn, who was taken into custody in Galveston County on a charge of capital murder. He is alleged to have been involved in the shooting that claimed the life of 29-year-old Markquez Mack and left a 30-year-old woman injured in November 2025.
The incident occurred on November 28, 2025, shortly before 5 a.m., when officers responded to a report of gunfire in a parking lot located on South Post Oak Road, just north of Highway 90 Alternate. According to police, the two victims were confronted by at least two male suspects, leading to a heated argument. During this altercation, Mack was shot, and the suspects reportedly wounded the other victim while fleeing the scene.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where Mack was pronounced dead. Fortunately, the injured woman is anticipated to make a full recovery.
