The Texas Attorney General’s Office has announced the arrest of several convicted felons in the Houston area on charges of illegal voting during the midterm elections. This action follows a citizen’s report made on October 27, prompting an investigation into the allegations.
Officials revealed that the tipster indicated individuals who were either incarcerated, on parole, or on probation had cast ballots in Harris County. In response, the Election Integrity Unit conducted a thorough review of the voter registration records of the individuals in question, confirming their identities and participation in the 2026 election.
Further investigation involved collaboration with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which verified that multiple individuals were indeed on parole at the time they voted, rendering them ineligible under Texas law. As a result, arrest warrants were issued on Friday in Montgomery County for those identified in the ongoing inquiry, leading to their apprehension by officers from the Attorney General’s Office.
At this time, the identities of the arrested individuals have not been disclosed.
