Waxahachie Mother Faces Capital Murder Charges in Tragic Shooting Deaths of Her Two Sons

A mother from Waxahachie has been charged with capital murder following the tragic shooting deaths of her two sons. On October 1, 2026, 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon was taken into custody by the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, facing two counts of capital murder.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning when deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from a residence located in the 900 block of Big Sky Drive. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered two males suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim, 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 15-year-old juvenile, was quickly transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Colleen Nichole Lemmon was also found at the scene, where she sustained non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation revealed that she was responsible for the shootings, leading to her arrest on capital murder charges. She has since been booked into the Ellis County Jail, with her bond status pending an arraignment.
