As mid-January approaches, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo makes its annual return, infusing the city with a distinct Western atmosphere that enhances numerous events throughout the month.

Artspace111, located at 111 Hampton St in Fort Worth, presents Curated Texas, an event showcasing Texas-inspired art, from 5 PM to 7 PM. This exhibition features a unique collection of Texas art alongside a notable boot collection from Lauren Owen, a purveyor of legacy goods based in Austin, and the jewelry of local artisan brand Gather Goods. Curated Texas will be on display until Sunday, March 22, with gallery hours from 11 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Friday, and 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays. Admission to the exhibit is free.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science & History, situated at 1600 Gendy St, is joining in the rodeo festivities by screening the new film Horse Power at the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater. This 42-minute film, shown hourly until February 18, delves into the remarkable abilities of horses and their deep connection with humans across the globe. Tickets are priced at $15 and include access to the museum’s general exhibits.

Friday – Saturday, January 16-17, 2026

Bass Performance Hall, located at 525 Commerce St, will host the Wild West Rodeo Concert, performed by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 PM on both evenings. The concert will feature renowned Western film scores, including John Williams’ overture to The Cowboys, Elmer Bernstein’s The Magnificent Seven, and Ennio Morricone’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The program also includes beloved classical cowboy tunes such as Copland’s “Hoe Down” from Rodeo, Grofé’s “On the Trail” from the Grand Canyon Suite, and Rossini’s William Tell overture. The free All-Western Parade kicks off at 11 AM near the Tarrant County Courthouse on North Main Street, featuring marching bands and riding groups alongside vibrant floats. While the parade is free to attend, some reserved seating options are available starting at $15 through FWSSR.com.

Today marks the final opportunity to experience Koda’s Adventure to the Magical Ocean, part of the Tianyu Lights Festival, at the Texas Trust CU Theatre, located at 1001 Texas Trust Way in Grand Prairie. Monday – Tuesday, January 19-20, 2026

The Dock Bookshop, found at 6637 Meadowbrook Dr in Fort Worth, will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a series of events. On Monday at 3 PM, families are invited to a Story Time featuring activities, arts and crafts, and refreshments, followed by a community conversation titled Where Do We Go from Here at 5 PM. On Tuesday, Mike Guinn will host the 2026 MLK Spoken Word Contest & Open Mic from 7:30 PM to 10 PM, offering cash prizes and a trophy.
