As Valentine’s Day approaches in 2026, excitement is building for the upcoming festivities, and this also marks the return of Monster Jam®️ to Fort Worth. Recently, The Weekly had the opportunity to chat with Tristan England, the talented driver of the JCB DIGatron Monster Jam®️ truck, along with his wife Kierra and their son Crash.
Tristan, thanks for meeting with us today. What’s your favorite freestyle stunt to perform?
Tristan England shared, “My favorite freestyle stunt over the past decade has to be the backflip to moonwalk. It’s an incredibly technical maneuver. You have to backflip a 12,000-pound truck while controlling the tire rotation, shifting into reverse, and relying on the rebound to land back on the front BKT tires. It’s something I often practice with my son, Crash, at home, where we pretend to play with the Spin Master trucks.”
How did growing up in a shop and being around cars and trucks shape what you wanted to do?
England reflected, “The experience instilled hard work and grit in me, but it was the banter and camaraderie I shared with my dad, who is also a Monster Truck driver, that truly shaped my passion. He pursued his dream of Monster Trucks while I was involved in dirt track racing. I often playfully critiqued him, and now I find myself facing the same situation with my son. I hope he aspires to follow in my footsteps, and while I used to tease my dad, I’m now receiving the same playful criticism from Crash.”
You mentioned Texas Roadhouse as your favorite restaurant while on the road. What do you enjoy eating there?
England replied, “I love chicken-fried steak or a good steak, but we often go there because Crash can’t get enough of the rolls. We recently introduced him to the idea of dipping the rolls in ranch dressing, which he thinks is fantastic.”
What can you tell us about your experience at Monster Jam University®️?
Tristan described his time at Monster Jam University as invaluable, stating, “Tom is a father figure to many of us. The camaraderie among us is what keeps us motivated. During training, it’s just you and the instructor, who expects a lot, pushing you to your limits. You have to focus entirely on absorbing the lessons from a 14-time world champion. My goal is to achieve similar accolades one day.”
What is it like for your family to travel with you during your competitions?
Kierra England explained, “We try to travel together when we can, but it’s challenging with Crash in school. However, whenever possible, we love attending Monster Jam®️ events to support Dad.”
Tristan added, “It’s especially great when events are held in Arlington, just a two-hour drive from home, and being in Cowboys Stadium is a bonus since we’re huge fans!”
What does it mean to represent your home state while performing?
Tristan expressed pride in competing in his home state, saying, “It feels amazing. It fuels my passion, even when the routine can feel repetitive. You never imagine as a child that you would make a career out of this. To inspire the next generation to get involved in motorsports makes it all worthwhile. My legacy is tied to these Monster Jam®️ trucks, and I hope to continue building that legacy with my family.”
This weekend, the Englands will be back in Arlington on Saturday, February 14, as Tristan competes in the Monster Jam Stadium Championship Series East at AT&T Stadium. He is set to drive the JCB DIGatron®️, with the main event starting at 7 PM and a Pit Party from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM for fans to meet the drivers. Tickets start at $53, with Pit Party passes available for an additional $21.
In addition to the event, the JCB DIGatron®️ truck will be on display at South Star JCB on Thursday, February 12, from 2 PM to 6 PM, where fans can meet Tristan and get autographs. This event is free and open to the public. Other trucks from the Arlington lineup will also be showcased that day, including ThunderROARus®️ and Grave Digger®️, at various locations in the area.
