Two Escape Unharmed as Boat Catches Fire on Lake Ray Hubbard

Two individuals escaped without injury after their boat caught fire on Lake Ray Hubbard on Sunday afternoon. The vessel was consumed by flames, which reportedly erupted from the floor, prompting a nearby boater to intervene and rescue the occupants before Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived on the scene.

Emergency responders received the call regarding the fire at approximately 4:44 p.m. Upon arrival, the Dallas Fire-Rescue unit, Marine 1, discovered the boat fully engulfed in flames, but fortunately, no one was aboard at that time. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, though the boat suffered extensive damage.

The two individuals aboard reported hearing a loud noise just before flames began to emerge from the boat’s floor. Their quick escape was facilitated by the timely actions of a nearby boater.

In the aftermath, no injuries were reported, and the damaged boat was secured at Terry Park for further assessment. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
