In a tragic incident at the Birdville Independent School District Stadium in Haltom City, Texas, two women and a male suspect have lost their lives following a shooting that occurred on Friday afternoon. The local police have classified the shooting as an isolated event and indicated that there is no evidence linking it to the school district’s activities.
The shooting took place around 4:30 p.m. in the stadium’s parking lot, situated off East Belknap Street. Eyewitness footage captured by SKY 4 revealed crime scene tape surrounding a white vehicle and a U-Haul van, in addition to numerous emergency response units at the scene.
Authorities reported that two women were discovered inside the car; one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The male suspect was found deceased in the parking area.
Haltom City police released a statement, asserting, “This is believed to be an isolated incident and the area is secured. We do not have reason to believe that the incident was related to Birdville Independent School District.” The school district confirmed that no events were scheduled at the stadium on that Friday afternoon.
In response to the incident, Birdville ISD expressed its sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken this has occurred in our community, and we are working closely with Haltom City Police as they investigate this incident.”
