Local musicians are gearing up for a summer of touring, bringing the spirit of Fort Worth to audiences across the country and beyond. From nearby cities to distant locales, these artists are seizing the opportunity to showcase their talents to new crowds, all while solidifying Fort Worth’s reputation as an emerging music hub.

On May 23, the electrifying Werewolf Victim Revival will make their way to Denton’s renowned Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios to support Dallas heavy rock band The Infamists, who are celebrating the release of their new single, “Feral Noises and Amphetamines.” They will be joined by North Texas’ own Van Damme, known for their powerful sound and featuring members from the well-loved rock group DUELL.

For those who crave more high-energy performances, The Dangits will take the stage at Three Links in Deep Ellum on May 30, sharing the night with Houston’s Cops, a band recognized for their dynamic live shows.

As May wraps up, RGRS will host Tarrant County’s death-metal trailblazers Gammacide on May 31, celebrating their 40th anniversary alongside Silvertonguedevil and Chemicaust.

The upcoming weeks also see folk singer-songwriter Jacob Furr embarking on a tour that will take him from Edmond, Oklahoma, to various states including Missouri, Chicago, Kansas, New Jersey, and Arkansas, running through early August. Similarly, fellow Fort Worth artist Clint Niosi will be hitting the road, bringing his unique blend of jazz-infused melodies through Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, and Minnesota in July and August.

On June 6, Dallas will host the second annual Dumb Zone Generic Summer Event at Four Corners Brewing, headlined by Fort Worth’s own Quaker City Night Hawks. This event promises an evening filled with music, beer, and laughter, further engaging the community.

High-energy cowpunk band Vandoliers is currently on tour in the Northeast, making stops in major cities like Boston, New York, and Philadelphia before heading to the Midwest. Their tour supports the album “Life Behind Bars,” which reflects frontperson Jenny Rose’s experiences as one of the few trans women artists in the alt-country scene, culminating in a performance in Norway in mid-June.

Country music sensation Summer Dean will be traveling through the Texas Hill Country in early June, with performances scheduled in Austin and Fredericksburg, before heading north to Wichita, Kansas, and further west to Montana, Washington, and Oregon.

Cosmic country artist Broke String Burnett is also set to tour through the scenic Chisos Mountains starting June 18, with performances in Terlingua, Alpine, and Marathon. He will give a preview of his tour on May 29 at The Cicada in Fort Worth, accompanied by Walker & The Texas Dangers.

On the same night, the beloved Texas rock band Cutthroat Finches will kick off a summer series of performances, starting at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington before heading to Dallas’ Granada Theater in late July and wrapping up at Tulips FTW in Fort Worth in early August.

Meanwhile, the neo-soul duo Igimèjí is set to take their jazzy R&B sound to various locations in August, starting in El Paso, followed by shows in California and concluding back in the Southwest with performances in Tucson and Albuquerque.

Even as summer draws to a close, Fort Worth’s music scene remains vibrant. The punk band Love Cuts is scheduled for a September tour, coinciding with soulful singer Katie Robertson’s upcoming shows with indie-rock legends Built to Spill during the fall months, ensuring that the local music scene continues to thrive.
