Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, secured the Republican nomination by defeating incumbent Senator John Cornyn. Following this development, the candidates wasted no time in launching their campaigns, with Paxton’s team releasing a new attack ad aimed at Talarico. In response, Talarico rebuffed the accusations, stating, “If Ken Paxton is worried about freaks, he should stop giving Epstein-style sweetheart deals to pedophiles.”
Talarico has been eagerly anticipating his opponent’s nomination and made sure to address the media promptly. In an interview, he stated, “Ken Paxton doesn’t have a legislative record. He has a criminal record. And I look forward to prosecuting the case against him in the weeks and months ahead.”
