Czechia National Team Lands in North Texas for Exciting World Cup Journey

The Czechia National Team has officially arrived in North Texas, establishing its base camp at Mansfield Stadium ahead of the World Cup. The team landed at Dallas Love Field on Friday afternoon and will spend the next two months in the area.

On Saturday morning, the team will hold a special, ticketed training session at the stadium, offering local fans a unique opportunity to witness their practice. This marks Czechia’s first World Cup appearance since 2006, and they are eager to make a strong showing after their previous early exit in the group stage.

Team Expectations

Under the leadership of general manager Pavel Nedvěd, the team is excited about engaging with the local community during their stay in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. “After 20 years, the Czech national team is back at the FIFA World Cup,” Nedvěd stated. “The community training session is always a great event, and we are looking forward to meeting the people from Dallas, which will become our home for a few weeks.”

Community Support

Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans expressed pride in the city’s role as a host for the team, highlighting the significance of this opportunity. “Mansfield is proud to host the Czechia national team, and we want to show them they have the community’s support,” Evans said. “Being the tournament home to these elite athletes is one of the best ways to start Mansfield’s story as the Southern Gateway to Soccer in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.”

Upcoming Matches

The Czechia team will commence their training at Mansfield Stadium on Saturday, with fans having pre-registered for tickets to attend. Their first match is scheduled for Thursday against the Korea Republic at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico. Following that, they will face South Africa in Atlanta on June 18, and conclude the group stage with a match against Mexico in Mexico City on June 24.

Facilities in Place

Mansfield Stadium, a newly constructed facility, is one of two venues in North Texas designated as a base camp for the World Cup. These camps serve as primary training and operational hubs for national teams, offering daily practice facilities, recovery areas, and secure environments for players and staff.

Additionally, Toyota Stadium in Frisco will host the Swedish national team during the tournament, further solidifying North Texas’s role in this prestigious event.
