Deadly Shooting in North Austin: Suspect Now in Custody, Say Authorities

A tragic shooting incident in North Austin has resulted in one fatality, as confirmed by the Austin Police Department (APD). This marks the 36th homicide investigation for the department this year.

The event unfolded on July 24, around 2:30 p.m., in the 12200 block of North Interstate Highway 35 Service Road, close to the intersection with Tech Ridge Boulevard. Multiple callers to 911 reported hearing gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a victim suffering from significant injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the individual succumbed to their wounds shortly after. The authorities have apprehended the shooter, assuring the community that there is no ongoing threat.
