As a result of the intense heat, Austin-Travis County EMS transported 13 individuals from the game to local hospitals for various medical concerns. Reports indicate that three of these cases may be related to heat exposure, while the remainder had symptoms linked to other health issues.

In a commanding performance, the No. 5 ranked Texas Longhorns triumphed over Texas State with a score of 59-7, establishing a strong foundation for the upcoming matchup against Ohio State.

In light of the extreme conditions, ATCEMS has issued reminders regarding heat safety, particularly relevant during the hottest months of August and September. They recommend several precautions:
