Austin ISD Police Chief Injured in Motorcycle Motorcade Accident

Austin ISD police chief Wayne Sneed sustained injuries late Wednesday night during a motorcycle crash that occurred while he was participating in a motorcade with his officers.

The incident unfolded at around 8:20 p.m. on June 3, near the intersection of W US 290 westbound and the MoPac service road ramp close to Southwest Parkway, where officers from the Austin Police Department responded to the scene.

During the motorcade, two police motorcycles were involved in the collision, including the one operated by Chief Sneed. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. Efforts to obtain further comments from Austin ISD are currently underway.
