A man was fatally shot on a West Fort Worth street on Sunday night, according to local authorities. The incident took place near an apartment complex located in the 100 block of Nursery Lane.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 10 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and observed a suspect fleeing the area. In the aftermath, law enforcement has detained a person of interest, who is currently in custody as investigations continue.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release the identity of the deceased and the official cause of death in due course. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
