On January 26, a trio of Pearland police officers heroically rescued a woman trapped in a smoke-filled mobile home by utilizing bedsheets to carry her to safety. The incident unfolded on Garden Road, where emergency services were alerted to a residential fire.
Upon receiving reports of the blaze, dispatchers informed the officers that a woman with significant medical issues was unable to escape as dense smoke engulfed the structure. Officer Britt promptly arrived at the scene and collaborated with Officers Middleton and Slaughter to execute a daring rescue.
The officers bravely navigated through the thick smoke to locate the woman. Faced with rapidly worsening conditions, they ingeniously transformed her bedsheets into a makeshift stretcher, allowing them to lift and transport her out of the burning residence.
Once outside, Pearland Fire and EMS personnel assessed her condition, reporting that she was stable and safe. Following the rescue, all three officers were treated for smoke inhalation but have since been medically cleared and have resumed their duties.
