Dallas police are currently investigating a tragic shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at an event center parking lot located on South Buckner Boulevard in Pleasant Grove.
The incident took place around 2:30 a.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the event center’s parking lot.
Emergency personnel from Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced the man dead at the scene. Preliminary findings from the police indicate that a disturbance preceded the shooting. Attendees leaving the event center recounted hearing shots fired before discovering the victim on the ground.
Witnesses reported seeing an individual dressed in what appeared to be a security uniform fleeing the area shortly after the gunfire erupted. Homicide detectives and crime scene technicians dedicated the early morning hours to processing the site, where they recovered several shell casings near the vehicle in which the victim was found.
Authorities have established a crime scene and are actively interviewing witnesses. Officers are also canvassing nearby businesses for surveillance footage that could provide insights into the incident or help identify the suspect’s escape route.
As of now, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
