AUSTIN, Texas – State Representative James Talarico has emerged victorious in the Texas Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, securing approximately 53% of the votes against Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who garnered around 46%. The Associated Press declared Talarico the winner early Wednesday morning after a closely contested race.

The competition between Talarico and Crockett intensified as ballots were counted late Tuesday night, with both candidates eagerly anticipating the outcome.

In Dallas County, a judge had extended voting hours until 9 p.m. due to reports of confusion at polling locations, where some voters were turned away.
