La Marque City Council Meeting Sparks Controversy: Exclusive Interview with Councilman Lowry

The La Marque City Council convened on Monday afternoon to address various infrastructure improvement projects. Key topics included initiatives aimed at repairing roads and reducing traffic accidents within the community.

Among the agenda items was the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s safety action plan, designed to address the rising number of vehicular accidents. The organization aims to gather public feedback and reconvene for further discussions in a subsequent council meeting scheduled for the summer of 2026.

However, the meeting took a different turn during the public comment segment, where numerous residents expressed their discontent with Councilman Joseph Lowry.

“Eventually, when you keep calling people criminals, no one will believe you,” stated resident Hayley Winkleman, voicing her frustration. Another resident, Devoneah Greenwood, shared her personal experiences, declaring, “To this council, y’all got a serious problem.”

Following the meeting’s conclusion around 10 p.m., Councilman Lowry engaged in an exclusive conversation with FOX 26 to address the criticisms directed at him during the session.

The next session of the La Marque City Council is set for January 12, 2026, at 6 p.m.
