A man from Louisiana has been apprehended and charged with murder in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred in Northeast Austin in 2024.
Catrailon Trevarius Jarrell, a 21-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, was taken into custody following an incident at Bartholomew Park on April 17, 2024. According to official documents, law enforcement discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle located near the park’s basketball court. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital, where they ultimately succumbed to their injuries.
An arrest warrant was issued for Jarrell in October 2025. Subsequently, the Austin Police Department sought assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest him, as he was believed to be in Baton Rouge.
On March 25, the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, successfully apprehended Jarrell after he barricaded himself in the attic of a residence on Royal Oaks Court in Zachary, Louisiana.
