A suspect has been formally charged in connection with the double homicide of James William Yost and Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, which occurred in December 2025. Justin Marquez Washington faces a capital murder charge related to the tragic events that transpired on December 5.

The investigation into the deaths of the two Georgetown residents remains ongoing. The bodies of Yost and Clanton were discovered at a residence in the Sun City retirement community, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

The sequence of events unfolded on the evening of December 5, when Georgetown Fire received an emergency call concerning a fire alarm and smoke emanating from a home located at 300 Pipe Creek Lane. Upon arrival, first responders found 76-year-old Yost deceased on a neighbor’s lawn. Inside his residence, they also discovered the body of his housemate, 33-year-old Clanton.

Both men exhibited what the Georgetown Police Department described as “wounds consistent with a cutting instrument.” The following day, Washington, 28, was identified as a person of interest and was apprehended after being discovered in Yost’s vehicle following an altercation at a local Domino’s Pizza.

At the time of the incident, Washington was residing in the home with Yost and Clanton. Family members of Clanton revealed that all three men were involved in a relationship, although tensions had reportedly arisen regarding the dynamics of that relationship.

According to Clanton’s sisters, Yost and Kenneth had been cohabitating intermittently for approximately five years, with Yost providing support for Clanton’s aspiration to become a truck driver. They noted that Kenneth often included Washington during his visits home.

In addition to the murder charge, Washington faces other legal issues stemming from an incident at the Domino’s. Court documents detail an attack that occurred on December 7, shortly before noon, when Washington entered the establishment to order a pizza.

Store manager Pablo Rico described Washington’s demeanor as erratic, suggesting possible substance use. After initially leaving, Washington returned to the store and unexpectedly assaulted the employees, brandishing a metal hook and swinging it at them. Despite attempts to defuse the situation, Washington continued to act aggressively, ultimately leaving the scene and abandoning a tire iron in a nearby parking lot.

Law enforcement later located Washington in a restaurant parking lot not far from the Domino’s. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Williamson County Jail.

Washington is currently being held on a total bond of $650,000 for multiple charges, which include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault causing bodily injury, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The Georgetown Police Department has indicated that evidence, including video footage, has supported the capital murder charge against him.
