A SWAT team was deployed to a residence in North Houston early Saturday morning following reports of an assault, but ultimately, no arrests were made.
The incident began around 1 a.m. when a call was made to 911 from Briarcliff Drive, located near Tidwell and Bauman Roads. According to a police lieutenant on the scene, the caller reported witnessing a man assaulting a woman.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the woman, who revealed that she was in a relationship with the suspect. It was confirmed that he had headbutted her, but fortunately, she is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect retreated into a home and refused to leave when police arrived. In response, law enforcement established a perimeter around the residence and urged him to exit. Due to the suspect’s known possession of firearms, a SWAT team was eventually summoned to the scene.
By noon on Saturday, a representative from the Houston Police Department provided an update, indicating that the situation had concluded without any apprehensions.
At this time, the identities of those involved remain undisclosed, and further information regarding the SWAT operation is not available.
