Police in Rollingwood are currently investigating an incident that occurred early Friday morning, involving gunfire and the theft of a vehicle.
At approximately 3:43 a.m., a Rollingwood police officer on patrol reported hearing gunshots in the 3200 block of Park Hills Drive. Upon arrival, officers connected the gunfire to a motor vehicle theft.
In response to the situation, law enforcement agencies including the West Lake Hills Police Department, the Austin Police Department, and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office launched a coordinated search for the suspect, who remains at large.
Authorities confirmed that the stolen vehicle has been recovered. A shelter-in-place order that was issued during the incident has been lifted, and officials have reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
