Two individuals were injured and one person is in custody following a shooting incident at Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas, on Saturday evening.
The Humble Police Department reported that the shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the mall, situated off I-69 and FM 1960, north of Houston. Fortunately, three officers were already on duty at the mall and were able to swiftly manage the situation.
One of the injured, a juvenile, was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound and subsequently underwent surgery. Their current condition remains unknown. The second victim, an adult bystander, sustained minor injuries to their finger.
Authorities have detained another juvenile in connection with the shooting. Police are confident that they have accounted for all individuals involved and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the mall was closed, and multiple law enforcement agencies have arrived to conduct a thorough investigation at the scene.
As of now, the identities of those involved have not been disclosed, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
