Authorities have identified 27-year-old Brandon Lewis as the suspect in a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in northeast Houston on Tuesday. Prosecutors are currently seeking to deny him bail.
Following the incident, Lewis was taken into custody and is now facing murder charges in Harris County. As of this report, his bond has yet to be established, but the Harris County District Attorney’s Office has initiated a motion for a hearing to deny him bail.
The stabbing took place around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Lockwood and Laura Koppe Roads. Emergency services responded to reports of a man with a stab wound lying in the street, but unfortunately, paramedics pronounced the 55-year-old victim dead at the scene. Authorities have withheld the victim’s name pending notification of his family.
Witnesses present during the incident identified Lewis as the assailant, leading to his apprehension after a brief foot chase.
While the circumstances leading to the stabbing remain unclear, initial reports suggested it was preceded by an argument on a METRO bus. However, METRO officials have denied this connection, stating that the incident does not involve their services.
