A 17-year-old male has been rushed into surgery after arriving at a fire station on the South Side with a gunshot wound. The latest reports indicate that he is currently in critical condition.

On Thursday around 1:30 p.m., a personal vehicle pulled up to the fire station located on Corder Street near Scott Street. Inside the vehicle was the teenager, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his back.

Authorities believe that the shooting occurred following an argument between individuals in the vehicle and at least one other person on Cullen Boulevard, during which shots were fired into the vehicle.
