Three Dallas police officers were injured in a small plane crash that occurred in Forney during the early hours of Saturday morning. Fortunately, all three officers, who were off duty at the time, survived the incident.
The crash took place shortly after midnight in the vicinity of Sage Hill Parkway and Helms Trail. Emergency responders from the Forney police and fire departments quickly arrived at the scene.
All three individuals aboard the single-engine aircraft were identified as Dallas police officers. Two of them were transported to a local hospital for medical care, while the third received treatment at the scene and was subsequently released, according to a spokesperson for the City of Forney.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that the aircraft involved in the crash was a Bellanca Downer 14-19-3. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently being conducted by the Forney police in collaboration with the FAA and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
