A tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Mansfield, Texas, resulting in the death of a 56-year-old woman after a riding lawnmower overturned into a creek, leaving her trapped beneath the vehicle.
Authorities from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Preliminary reports indicate that there is no evidence of criminal activity. The identity of the victim has been confirmed as Krista Thompson, although the official cause of her death is being withheld pending the completion of an autopsy by the medical examiner.
Emergency responders received a call at approximately 5:10 p.m. regarding the incident at a residence located on Willow Creek Circle. Upon arrival, they learned that Thompson’s husband had attempted to rescue her from under the heavy machinery prior to their arrival. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to assess the details of the rollover incident. While foul play is not currently suspected, the investigation remains active as they gather further information.
