A tragic incident unfolded in East Harris County, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old man who was shot inside an apartment on Uvalde Road. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred on a Sunday evening.
According to Lieutenant Alanis from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit, deputies were dispatched to the apartment complex at approximately 6:46 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered the man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite attempts to administer CPR, he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
Reports indicate that only the husband and his 50-year-old wife were present in the home at the time of the incident. The wife has alleged that she shot her husband in self-defense while he was assaulting her. Their adult daughter arrived at the apartment shortly after the shooting occurred.
At this stage of the investigation, the identity of the deceased man remains undisclosed, and law enforcement officials have yet to determine if any charges will be filed in connection with the shooting.
